Abdominal Muscles as Low Back Stabilizers Part 2
As promised, here is a video of a few of my favorite rotation and anti rotational exercises. Like I mentioned in yesterdays post the abdominals play such a vital role in stabilizing the lumbar (lower) spine during rotational movement. Rotation is a part of life and movement… we all rotate every single day..therefore it is essential to incorporate rotational movement into your training program. Since you now all know how important stability is, it is also important to incorporate anti- rotation exercises into your programs as well. These can still be total body exercises, yet they require large recruitment from the internal/external oblique as well the the TVA ( lower abdominals) to resist rotation, and to stabilize the spine.
Enjoy
p.s. this is my first time ever talking into a camera and doing a video like this… much harder than it looks. So go easy on me please.
